Privam is a small family estate, nestled on a high plateau with breathtaking views of Mount Kenya. The coffees are grown in the mineral-rich soil of the highlands, in the shade of macadamia trees.
 
Through mutual connections, our founder and green buyer, Andy, had the chance to meet Rita and Patrick Mukundi - who represent Privam with their family members - earlier this year. Andy's visit was full of warm hospitality and an opportunity to tour the land and get to know each other. Andy discovered an exceptional coffee shop, and together they discovered a shared outlook on business, family, and the desire to build long-term relationships.
 
With impressive flavor exploding on the tasting table, Andy looked no further and purchased a quarter of their harvest.
 
Privam is our first coffee sourced from Rita and Patrick Mukundi - our first direct business partners in East Africa.
 
Our first coffee combines the iconic varieties SL-28, SL-34 and Batian. The coffee has matured slowly and been carefully processed to intensify the fruity notes that characterize the region.
 
This is a historic partnership and we couldn’t be more excited to introduce the Privam Estate family and coffees.
