Kigobe-Burundi
The Kigobe washing station represents a network of more than 3000 smallholder farmers located at high altitudes in the province of Kirundo. Washing stations like Kigobe have played a major role in developing the international profile of Burundian coffees. Expect clean, delicate flavors and a syrupy body that we admire in other African coffee-producing countries.
Kigobe is one of the seven washing stations run by Mrs. Angèle Ciza, a pioneer and holy figure in northern Burundi. Angèle was the first woman to run a business in the coffee industry in Burundi, she employed more than 100 women, covered the school fees of her employees' children, invested in training programs and environmental protection , etc. Unfortunately, Mrs. Angèle Ciza passed away last year. Pilot shares this batch of Kigobe to highlight his exceptional legacy.
